Sewer pipeline investigations
We review failed gravity-sewer tests and suspected leakage for utility contractors and municipal project teams. Groundwater entering through defects is infiltration. Wastewater escaping the pipe is exfiltration. Inflow can also enter through direct connections or openings.
Match the method to the question
- CCTV inspection can document visible defects such as cracks, displaced joints and active infiltration. Flow, debris and submerged pipe surfaces can limit what the camera sees.
- Project-approved air or water testing can assess the integrity of an isolated gravity-sewer section against specified criteria. An unsuccessful section test alone does not locate the defect.
- Targeted dye tracing can help investigate suspected flow paths or connections where the utility approves its use.
Information for an assessment
Share whether the line is a gravity sewer or a pressurized force main, the pipe material and diameter, the reach length, access points, test records and available CCTV. Force mains require separate review based on their operating conditions and access.
Scope, availability and a quote depend on the project requirements, equipment and qualified partners.
